Riga

First impression, too many fast food chains for an “Old Town”. We were still surrounded with cobblestone streets and pathways, but the mixture of modern and old didn’t blend well and took away from the charm. This is the first place that we actually enjoyed the newer part of town better than the historical city. The river and the parks were part of the newer part of town which made for lovely walks. I once said we could handle the cold. Well, I was wrong. Does the phrase bone-chilling cold me anything? Because that’s what we felt. We have no idea how our friends and family in cold weather states handle this type of weather. It aches to go outside when your face is frozen and your feet feel numb. I mean, it's not even winter yet! We are such wimps, no other way to say it.
